Our Transition: Three months of suitcases, snow, smiles, silliness, splendor and any other 'S' words that suggest we had a good time.

After leaving Spain in October of 2012 we spent nearly 3 months bouncing back and forth between our families' homes in Connecticut and Maine. At times, it was stressful: three months living out of suitcases. Different houses, different things, different people, different time zones, different schedules, different food, different toys. Just different. At times it was exhausting, as the first trimester of your pregnancy can be! But at most times, it was so wonderful. After being away for six years, living in Illinois and then Spain, this was the longest amount of time we'd spent with family. Fin finally had a chance to get to know his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. There were a lot of "firsts" during those three months. I'm thankful for all the photos we took. Looking back, it's hard to even remember the difficult moments. When I look at these photos, all I see are great memories. Over the three months we took hundreds of photos, so I've chosen a small (sort of) selection to share in order to best show you what we did during those three months. And so, without further ado, I give you "Our Transition."

We spent time with family:

We spent time with friends:

We spent time with puppies.

We played in the leaves. For the first time.

We trick-or-treated. For the first time.

We spent lots of time outside.

... Even a hurricane couldn't stop us.

We did some exploring.

We went to parks.

We played with toys.

... And BIG boy toys.

We went on walks.

We saw snow. LOTS of snow.

... And we played in it!

We ate American food. (Mumma was really excited about that.)

We dressed warmly. Not fashionably, but warmly.

We rocked hunter chartreuse yellow... fashionably. We were in Maine. Trust me. It was fashionable.

We enjoyed the views from Mimi and Poppi Clow's house. Again, and again, and again.

We got some amazing news.

Dada went hunting. With a cold. What a trooper. :)

 We cut up deer meat.

We did tub tub.

We visited some of our favorite stores!

We road tripped it. More than a few times.

We rode in the back of a pick up.

... Ok, some of us were in the front.

We hunted down our own Christmas tree.

...And lit it up.

We enjoyed the holidays with family.

And lastly, just before we left, we got to see and hear Kai. For the first time.

Amazing, right?
