POD "Silly Storks!"

Just a SWEET picture I nabbed of this old, run down sugar mill that has since been converted to a condominium stork! :) How neat are those huge birds!

POD The New Puppy!

So we drove 2 1/2 hours to check out this dog we saw online. The online listing said "problemas en la cabeza" aka problems in the head. AWWW but he was just SO darn cute in the pictures. Anyway, come to find out he was hit by a car as a pup, and lived, but suffered brain injury. Poor guy. We spent the day walking around the shelter looking at other dogs and trying to convince ourselves to NOT take on the responsibility of a dog that would be so much work. BUTTTTTTTT we just felt a calling to take him. His name is Sultan. (Spanish moorish king... came with the name.) Anyway here he is in the car ride on the way home. He reaked. Couldn't wait to give him a bath. :) Still can't believe that we made the crazy decision to do this within weeks of arriving here. Before our house was even settled yet! Anyway, he is getting better, but he is still a TON of work. Such a happy boy though.

POD "Sunset on the Beach"

One evening we decided to take a sunset walk on the beach. It only got more and more beautiful as it went down.

POD "Wow... Spain is Amazing"

When we first got here, there was rain ... more rain ... and even more rain. However, every now and again the rain broke and we got a taste of what beautiful Spanish weather is to come.

I immediately fell in love with the quiet winter beaches and the character of the quaint old towns. Takoda, too DECIDED that this move, was not so bad after all.

POD (Spain photo of the day) "A Little Exploring"

Matt and I did not waste any time! Immediately upon arriving we dove right into the culture and quaint little towns surrounding us. Our first trip driving On The Streets was a COMPLETE accident. We borrowed someone else's car to go to the vehicle processing center to get our car. Well, we were told it was an easy drive, and it SHOULD have been ... but we got lost. Yep, we got lost and ended up on the tiny streets of Rota. In a strange (manual) car, with strange road signs, with everything written in Spanish, having no idea where we were ... etc. :) When they say the roads are narrow ... You have no idea until you are actually driving in them. Ah well, they say you have to just dive in head first, right? That it's the best way to learn? Well, we're driving comfortably now... so maybe it was. :)

My first blog entry! Hope I'm doing this right!

Well, well. This is my first blog entry. Not quite sure what i'm doing, ESPECIALLY since half of this page is in spanish. :) Anyway, i'm going to attempt to catch everyone up on Spain, and my spanish "photos" of the day... but then hopefully I can try to continue to do a few photos per week. I know I can't commit to EVERY day, but maybe a couple days per week. I would love to share some of this foreign amazing-ness with you.
PS. That is a picture of us on the plane on our way to Spain. I was NOT doing so hot for many reasons 1. leaving friends and family back stateside 2. going with out sleep 3. knowing my puppy dog was in the plane below me and 4.(the most important).... I was out of wine.
